For years, large community health events provided families across the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia region with free health screenings, wellness education, and access to valuable community resources.
With the last in-person NBC4 Health & Fitness Expo held in 2020 and Telemundo Washington’s Feria de la Familia in 2019, the DMV has experienced a noticeable gap in large bilingual health outreach events.
The Emerson Health Foundation is proud to help fill that need with Voices of Wellness, a new community health and wellness fair dedicated to improving access to preventive care, health education, and local resources for families throughout the region.
Built on the belief that healthcare should be accessible to everyone, Voices of Wellness will offer free health screenings, educational sessions, family-friendly activities, and connections to trusted healthcare providers and community organizations.
Supported by the DC Mayor’s Office on Latino Affairs (MOLA), healthcare partners, nonprofit organizations, and corporate sponsors, Voices of Wellness is more than a one-day event—it’s the beginning of a renewed commitment to improving health equity and rebuilding a tradition of community outreach across the DMV
